Quote »here's how I got my 370's out of the SR rail. I did it differently, because, well, of course I had to keep them in good shape
1. Get a pair of channel lock pliers and a pair of Vise-Grips (old-school type, no needle nose or c-clamp silliness), and a thin rag of some sort - a doubled-up old t-shirt will work great.
2. Unbolt the top covers of each injector boss and set it aside. Keep your screws!
3. Kneel on the floor. Place the rail between your knees, with the top of the injector facing your right hand and the bottom facing the left.
4. Put the t-shirt over the top of the injector and adjust the vise-grips to clamp onto the 'square' part on the top of each injector. Don't do it on the connector - that'll snap off. Clamp down lightly but firmly - it's best to start light and then tighten like 1/8 turn each attempt. YOu'll need it firm, but don't let the top get deformed. Clamp the Vise-grips onto the top of the injector and leave them on. If you did it tightly enough, they should stay on through the next maneuvers.
5. Take a small bit of t-shirt and double it up. Take the channel lock pliers and move them to the third or fourth notch. Place the tip of the lower jaw on the bottom of the injector, using the doubled-up t-shirt for padding. Place the top jaw onto the top lip of the injector boss, making sure that the injector will pull clear. It should be clearly visible that you can apply a little bit of force to the injector tip to push the whole thing out. If it's not apparent, you're not doing it right.
6. Using the channel locks, CAREFULLY CAREFULLY CAREFULLY squeeze the injector out of the rail until the tip is flush with the injector boss. Using the vise-grips (still clamped on, right?), pull the injector out. You may need to give it a couple of shots to get the tension right on the Vise-Grips.
