Wait what? Pulling the air bag to pull the abs system right?
You first pull the battery. Let it sit for about half hour to an hour to let the system discharge fully. Do NOT miss that step. It says at least 10 minutes in the FSM, but I've had previous experience with that SRS module that I'd rather forget. Minimum 30 minutes.
Now onto the actual removal. 1. on the left side, you'll see a small cover. Pull the cover and disconnect the connector there. You'll see a torx screw in there also. You'll need to get the right torx screw driver (the size escapes me right now so you'll need to check) and you'll also see it on the right side of the steering wheel.2. Pull the cover off. You'll want to keep it it with the pad facing up. 3. With a steering wheel puller, pull the steering wheel. You'll want to make sure you set the wheels pointing straight forward with the steering wheel's orientation being vertical. With a sharpie or something like that, mark where the nut, wheel, and the actual steering column meet. Behind the steering wheel, you'll see another connector, pull it and a couple screws. There's another black piece called a spiral cable. You can pull that part now too.
Do you also need it for the passenger side?
