so i tried the steelwool to take off some of the gold on emblem, but i also have gold on antenna mount and exhaust tips.

is there a product to remove the gold and make them chrome again or is it better to replace with chrome pieces?

i dont like gold on a car as you can tell.

What kind of Hollywood guy are you? I think the gold plating process ruins the chrome, so replacement is probably the answer. If they're too pricey, there should be good ones available at a junkyard.

good question. I've been meaning to take off the gold emblems on the I30. I never liked that 't' with the gold package stuff. The gold has faded over time and looks BAD. Luckily I know a jewler with a simlar kit Jason showed us.

I am surprised that you still have gold on your antenna. Most gold package cars I see the antenna is almost completely silver again.

I lucked out and found a new front badge & antenna thing for $55 via eBay, but rarely see such things anymore.

I remember the business selling it being called "Wings N Things" (or something like that)... searched on web and only thing I found was a butterfly farm. The guy was somewhere in SoCal.
