Hey Guys,

I have an aftermarket rear cover for my differential (aluminum with extra capacity) and the drain / fill plug threading is pretty loose. The damn thing leaks a little bit of fluid over time so i was wondering is there any gasket stuff i can put on the plugs (teflon tape??) to make it seal better.

What are my options?cheersMarko

Grey RTV Sealant from your local auto parts shop.

i have rtv on the rear cover/differential interface, but you are saying to put some RTV on the plug itself? interesting proposition... I may try that

there is a "thread sealant" RTV(I think), comes in a tube and supposed to be resistant to break down from petroleum. I'd use that. It should also be at the auto parts shot.
