Hi guys, looking for an infiniti m35 lately and I would like to get a 08-09 model but with all the packages. I know for sure (read on edmunds review) the 08 model has two tech packages and a premium package. However, when shopping through ebay or auto trader these dumb dealers aren't familiar with the car and they don't really point out. Well, some do state "tech package" but that's it.

So my question is this: Is there an easy way to differentiate which cars have which packages?

For example, on some cars you know what option package they have just by looking at steering wheel to which buttons are there or have been left out.

I want an m35 with the premium package (which includes two tech packages) that has power reclining and heated rear seats.

Any thoughts or tips?

First look for the speakers on the front seats in the pictures. Because that will indicate the 12 speaker bose. When you actually look at the car, open up the rear armrest and that's where the reclining seat controls would be. I don't have a premium package but if I'm not mistaken that's where the owners manual says the rear seat heat and power reclining controls are.

ok so this comes from Edmunds and is for the 2008 M35

Other optional packages pile on more technology and luxury with amenities. The Technology Package includes an eight-speaker Bose audio system with a dedicated iPod interface and a hard drive-based navigation system with digital music storage, voice recognition, real-time traffic and a rearview camera. On top of that, the Advanced Technology Package adds a 14-speaker surround-sound Bose audio system, adaptive cruise control and additional safety features. The top-shelf Premium Package includes both technology packages and also adds power reclining and heated rear seats, rear audio controls, a rear sunshade and an entertainment system.

So the first tech package includes 8 speakers and the second "advanced" tech package includes 14 speakers. So if the car has speakers on the seats this means it is the "advanced" tech package? I'm guessing the first tech package with 8 speakers is not going to put speakers on the seats?

If I see speakers on the front seats then I am 2/3 of the way there. I just need to find the controls in the rear armrest to determine if the car has the 3rd package which is the premium one. I am shopping online right now and I have not yet seen one dealer take pics of the interior rear armrest. If the rear sunshade is up that would be a sign it has the premium package.

Does anybody know where the rear sunshade button would be? I think that if were to be in the front of the car somewhere, I would only need to look for that to see if that option exist.

Thanks for the previous quick response

I found the owners manual online and answered my own question.

For future reference, the rear sunshade control is located inside the rear armrest AND in the front between the climate control switch for the front seats. Same thing for a switch called "rear control cancel" which cancels all the functions inside the rear armrest I would assume.

Anyways, if you spot these buttons between the climate control seat switch in the front, then you know the vehicle has the premium package which includes both tech packages.

Actually, To have the "Advanced tech package" you need to have the Tech package in the first place. So to find out if it's an advanced package, look for the speakers on the seats

I'm surprised to find that under 5% of the infiniti M35 in 2008 or 2009 have the premium package with the reclining and heated/cooled back seats, rear sunshade, and rear audio and climate controls. I looked on autotrader and I found 2 cars out of 80 that had this package installed! And my price range was up to 24k.

I wonder how much it was for a fully loaded M35 in 08 or 09 with every single package and option installed. It must have been a pretty penny for the them to be so rare. I guess if the they wanted an extra 5k for those few options in the premium package I would have skipped it too. BUUUUUT 6 years later I suppose Im paying pennies of the dollar for those options that were so expensive for the first owner :bigthumb:

Yes indeed these car with the "Premium Package" or also known was "Mobile Entertainment System" (as described below) are very rare. I flew down Southern Cali for my 2006 M35 and drove it back.
It came with the original window price sticker at $52K that is with $10.5K in packages.
I got the car last year at 49K miles for 20K. They also come in the Sports model (extremely rare) but the Sports model does not include reclining seats.
Good luck on your search and hope you find the right one.

What Wangtang408 said is correct, you cannot get sports package with the Premium package. I have the Advanced tech with Sports on my 07
