Got tein tie rod and tie rod ends. Now I have to seperate the stock ones from steering rack. I was told to hammer them out but since I plan to change the steering rack in the spring, I need to know how to seperate the tie rod and tie rod ends without damaging them.

How do I seperate the tie rod and tie rod end from steering rack without damaging them?

basically hammer back the little tab thing between the rack and the inner tie rod, and use a large wrench(I used a huge cresent wrench) to loosen and unscrew the inner tie rods. I put the wrench on htere w/ handle facing down, positioned myself, and kicked it hard to initially loosen it.

If you want to get the entire tie rod off the steering arm you need a hammer and a pickle fork. It looks like a pitch fork with two prongs. Stick the fork inbetween the steering arm and the tie rod and smack it with a hammer. You might need to hit it a few times, but usually one big smack should pop it off.

Now if you want to get the tie rod end off the tie rod you'll need to do as the other said. But you might want to smack it with a rubber mallet inside of kicking it with your foot.
