The best way to check your injectors is with a noid light.

As far as checking your ECU goes im not really sure i know of a good way to check one. I always just swap the one in question out for one that works. You might be able to do something with the diagnostic mode on the ecu, however i dont know.

i dont know what a noid light is, but i just stick a long screwdriver against the top of the injector, and put my ear to the handle. you should hear a ticking.

as for the ecu, theres a light that should be on when it is getting power. if the light is always off and its getting at least 12v your ecu is fried. im not sure how, but i think there is a way to read thrown codes off the ecu when the light flashes also.

wont the noid light only check the wiring leading to the fuel injector and not the injector itself? there are these tools that they sell at almost any auto parts store that looks like a long probe with a handle and you press it to the injector and it will flash when it sees a ele, signal. its pretty cool and really cheap.

Ok, this isn't nearly as complicated as you guys are making it sound. You can run a diagnostic check on the ecu itself which tell you if the ecu is good and if one or more of the injectors is bad as well as the MAF. I have recently added a metric ton of info to our FAQ at the top of the KAT forum. If you can't find the answer there then there probably isn't one...lol.

Here are the procedures for the ecu diagnostic checks though, just cause I'm the coolest Moderator on the entire internet

ECU Diagnostic 89-90

ECU Diagnostic 91-94

ECU Diagnostic 95-98

Fuel Injector Replacement

Hope this helps WD
