How to rettach door handle

How do I reattach the door handle. I keep try and put the door handle on the actuators but it won't stay on. Not sure if I messed up the brackets when I took it off.

I used http://diy.icydesigns.com/article/177/N ... cqcjsiGNhE but the pictures are pretty fuzzy and I can't figure out how to work backwards. I had lost my key so I did the take down pretty quick so I could take the door lock to a locksmith.

I put it on but the door handle stays in the extended position.
