This thread will illustrate How To replace your Keyfob battery so that you can hop in your car with confidence knowing your key is not going to die on you at work and then you will have to call your wife to come pick you up, but she wont answer her phone because she never does when you actually need her and then you would be sitting in your car wishing you had triple A . . . but you don't.

(I looked and I could not find this How To, so if its a repost, then i just waste 20min of my life)

Here we go!

First things first, Tools required;1) Any flat pointed object will do. Like the flat head screwdriver I had laying around.2) Your C2032 Battery3) Your keys

FYI: my keys lasted me about 6 months each before they gave me the low life sign.

Next,Pull the physical key out of the keyfob with the little switch on the back that you play with while it sits in your pocket.

Then,Pick up the keyfob (just one) and look for this . . .

Right in the center you will see that little indent . . .

Next, you want to "Smartly" use the flat pointed object, like the flat head you see in the picture, and press the indent and give it a little twist.

This will open the seal to they keyfob and you will be able to open the rest by hand.

Then,With the keyfob open . . .

. . . Remove the battery. You may need the flat pointed object again.

After,*Important* Insert the new C2032 batter FACE DOWN!

I dont know what it does face up but since the old battery was face down lets keep it going that way.

Lastly,Line up they keyfob with its mate and smartly snap them shut together.

Thats it, your done!

Now your ready to be confident! You should not have to call your wife to come pick you up from work because you did not know how to replace your keyfob battery!

Any comments or concerns please feel free to leave on below or if your shy/embarrassed just send me an email.

Thank you very much, I hope you all found this very useful.

Hey, for many people in NJ, it's very difficult! They pump it for you here!

That's because there's a petroleum distribution engineer union! If you even think of getting out of the car to pump your own gas, They go freakin crazy! They start waving their arms/hands in the air and start yelling at you in different tongues

They'll give you a new battery at the dealership for like $5.

Beautiful write up though...

Isn't that why there's the key for the door, and that little slot in the console to shove the keyfob into in case the battery dies in it??
