how to remove y33 shift knob?

man i cant get this thing to come off. unscrewed the shift knob screws obviously, removed the surrounding trim piece, and unclipped the gear selector plate thingy, and i still cant get it out. does anyone have any tips for this? ive gone as far as the FSM can take me and i dont want to break anything by doing it the wrong way

Do you mean just leather part of shift lever or the whole shifter lever?I've never taken one apart, but I think there should be some kind of retainer a snap-ring or something. If shift(leather) knob, try twisting it!Cheers!

i would prefer to just remove the leather part but when i unscrewed it, it seemed like it was built into the chrome lever. *shrug*
