How to remove the trim piece on outside door handle

I want to remove the little cap, right behind the exterior rear door handle; do I have to remove the interior trim, or do I just pry it off?

There is a bolt that holds that #2 piece in place. It is accessed by opening the door, removing the small circular plug (black plastic), which allows access to the bolt that is holding # 2 in place.

Once you LOOSEN (do not remove) that bolt the piece will come out. This is done by gently pulling the door handle like you are opening the door and the #2 piece will pull right out. Be careful, because that piece sort of locks the rest of the handle in place...and if you aren't careful you will pull the handle out and the assembly will drop down inside the door....ask me how I know.
