lol. I ended up taking a cutting wheel to mine, and then a chisel and bfh and hitting into the cut out section to crack it. Then i simply replaced the timing cog for like $26. You can also drill two holes into it and tap them, and use a pulley puller. either way, its a PIA to remove b/c its rusted onto the crankshaft. You also want to purchase a new plate for behind the cog b/c i'm sure by now, you've probably fuct it up enough that i'll make noise when you reassemble it all.

Use a pry bar. Simple, easy, didn't make the pulley unuseable. You have to work at it for no more than 30 seconds before you can pry it off.

HAHabout an hour after prying from as many angles as possible, i started to think of other ways to get it off, realized i'd have to cut it, so i pried for an hour more. never came loose.

If prying it doesn't do it, get yourself a torch and heat (don't dorch it) the sprocket alone, not the crank, this way, the sprocket will expand but the crank won't, then you can easly pry it out. but be careful where the flames hit.Good luck,

I dont have torch. The only thing I have to heat bolts are the little propane torch you can buy for 5.99cnd hehe Do you think it will work?

The best way to remove it is to drill and tap or do like F S T CAZ and TMS say and that is to cut, then chisel it.

In theory, a little propane torch should take it off...it's not an interference fit. My company uses pulleys with a similar fit, and they only need about to be about 50 degrees hotter than the shaft to slide off. However, these are usually rusted to hell. I tried a prybar, chisel, oxy-acetylene torch on the sprocket...no good. I ended up drilling/tapping two holes in it, then pulling it off with a puller.

I would have, only at the dealership, we switched from using PB Blaster to using BG petratror (or something like that) and it worked even better than PB Blaster, but alas, even after soaking and sitting, still wasnt coming off.

Well I LOVE PBBlaster, so I'm going to soak it real good with that first and hope it comes off. the car's not real rusted so I'm hoping for the best...
