There is a wire to the ecu that you can cut that eliminates the speed governer. I think it is a brown and green wire (not 100% sure) However, it will only gain you about 10mph top speed because you still have to worry about your rev limiters. Like on my car, I cant go over 5000 rpms in 5th gear. The only good way to completly remove any speed/ rev limiters is to get a aftermarket ecu. Somthing like a jwt computer.

ohh i see, so the wires you're talking about are on the 240sx ecu harnesses? Is it the same for all 240's?

The wire might be different in your sohc but go to the faq on 240sx.org and they talk about different ways to remove the speed governer. I suggest you get a ecu wire guide on 240sx.org. I think that you can also unplug a sensor from your transmission that eliminates the 5th gear rev limiter but your tach wont work. My car use to cut out at 115 and I cut the wire to my ecu and now I can hit about 125.

im on my cuz name on here but...the reason u can only rev out to 5000 is b/c of the 5th gear sensor once that is removed the only thing stoping u is the rev limiter its self
