how to remove the oil filter message?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Most newer vehicles require you entering a "code" to turn it off after an oil change. It should be in your owner's manual. Usually it's something along the lines of turning the key on and stepping on the brake pedal a couple times then the gas pedal or something else of that nature.

Sorry... no codes on a EX35.

You don't beat on the Gas Pedal multiple times either... you're thinking of General Motors. G.M. is 4 times under 5 seconds, while the key is "On".

Maintenance information

To set the maintenance interval for Reminders 1
to 4, choose an item using the INFINITI controller
and push the ENTER button.

You can also set to display a message to remind
you that the maintenance needs to be performed.

The following example shows how to set a Reminder

1. Use the same steps to set the other
maintenance information.

1. Reset the driving distance to the new
maintenance schedule.

2. Set the interval (mileage) of the maintenance
schedule. To determine the recommended
maintenance interval, refer to
your ªINFINITI Service and Maintenance
Guideº.

3. To display the reminder automatically
when the set trip distance is reached,
highlight the ªInterval Reminder º key
with the INFINITI controller and push the
ENTER button.

4. To return the display to MAINTENANCE
INFO., push the BACK button.

Maintenance information display cannot be operated
when the vehicle is moving. Stop the
vehicle in a safe place to see the information.
The unit can be converted between US and
Metric.

Take it back to the Dealer. They'd be happy to show you how to do it.

I know exactly what reminder your talking about...Personally I like these as they get peoples attention more than just the MAINTENANCE ITEM 1-4, those are not descriptive enough.

The one in the combination meter (gauge assembly) is more of a pain to reset, after service and for some reason get neglected too often.

-First press the Top Button on the right side until the display changes to the four lines of text
-Press the Bottom Button three times
-Press the Top Button once
-Press the Bottom once
-Top Twice
-Bottom Once

From here you should get the basic idea of how you will reset this. Let me tell you from experience it takes a few tries to get the first time (I recommend practicing before you try to show someone else).

Remember the top button is Select and the bottom is Enter. I'll go digging for some real directions.
