I just recently had the same problem with a bumper and fender. I called the place and they were like " i dunno, good question. " wtf. Anyways, some of it came off with dish soap and a towel(alot of scrubbing), but i couldnt get most of it off. I tried everything, then realized that if anything would do it then paint thinner, or gasoine would do the trick. I was scared this would f-up my paint, so i tried it on a spot that you never really see. It didnt damage the paint, so i took some gas , wet a towel, then scrubbed like mad for a good while. You have to press down really hard. good luck.

Gas will ruin the paint. Try Goo-Gone or some other type of Bug/Tar Remover. They probably use some sort of grease pen.

Gas had no effect on the stock paint job what so ever. I was certain that it would, but it did not. I did this myself, so i dont know how you can claim that it will damage it. However, I am not promising that it will not mess up any paint job. Just saying that it did not mess up the stock paint that is on my car, so try it in a spot that is unseen first. Also, as hard as I had to rub with gas, im sure that goo gone or whatever will be even more difficult, considering that gas is a very strong solvent.

Thanks for all the response. I will try the bug/tar remover and if that doesn't work, I will go with the paint cleaner and if that doesn't work, I will go with the gas.

It does long term effect not immediate. If you let it sit for a few minutes it will be immediate. But being you used some then cleaned your good. But removed some of your clear coat.
