how to remove the front axle hub cap?

I need help to remove the front axle hub cap on 01 QX4. what tools do i need to pull this crap out

if you're talking about what i think you're talking about, a screwdriver and a hammer. work around it slowly and pry it off. check out the sticky about installing WARN manual hubs and it'll have pictures for you to see. there's info about it on NPORA as well.

The hold down cir-clip will need replacing if a hammer and screw driver are used to remove. If you want to re use use a cir clip, pliers are a must. Internal or external will both work but the operation is opposite with each.

That small piece of metal holds that wheel assembly together, so it must not be deformed.

thank you guys. I'll try the pliers first and if that doesn't work, then i'll use hammer and screw driver

Remember if it is out of shape get a new clip!
