Well I am installing a head unit in my buddies maxima. so I came to ask here so i will properly take everything apart without messing his car up. He said he has a 2000 maxima se with stock bose system. How do I remove it? I am familiar with working on my ford cars and would this be a difficult task to do? thanks!

It should. I think that the 2000 has a central amp that powers the Bose. you will have to find the amp and by-pass the speaker wire to the amp. check http://www.crutchfield.com for a wiring harness for your car. You could probably connect the HU to the Bose amp and hear how it sounds.
