Is there a special way to remove this? I can't get an impact wrench/drill around it nor a torque wrench or large ratchet.

I tried Using a large adjustable wrench but I couldn't get enough torque going to get the sucker loose.

Any help/ideas would be great.

The nut itself, or the balljoint too? You might be able toget the nut with a large flarenut wrench if nothing else will fit.

Thanks, I know about the ball joint puller. That's not the issue.

The problem is I can't even get to that step.

There is one big nut, a 22mm, that is over the bolt & a cotter pin. I removed the cotter pin, but I can't get in there easily enough to put force on the nut to get it loose.

An impact wrench doesn't fit because the axle is blocking it. It's just that 1 nut that is keeping me from removing the rear spindle.

Thanks

I'm liking this idea. Get a 22mm wrench on it, and slip a pipe over it to give you some more leverage.

I found that the hard part was separating it from the LCA.

Also, if you still can't fit anything in there, try separating the LCA from the subframe. I think it'll help clear out some space to work with..

Great idea. I actually did all of this work while the entire rear end was dropped from the car, which is probably why I never ran into an interference issue.

I ran into the same problem when I had to change my rear lca after my friend curbed the car.. Basically..I used a closed end wrench and slid another closed end wrench onto the open end. and pushed foward. Or I just used the closed end and used my foot been a while...Separating it dead blow hammer 4,5lbs onto a block of wood ontop of nut.

I forget but when replacing it you have to use a air compressor to get it properly torqued.I believe before installing the opposing bolt you first torque it down and then put the axle back in its place.. I also had the traction arm off..etc.. been a while.. last year I did it.

Yeah, if you don't have air tools, you can probably get away with jacking it up under the lca balljoint. That'll put enough pressure to keep it from spinning.
