I've been trying to remove the bumper grills so I can change the fog lights to new ones I bought on ebay but I can't seem to get it. I tried looking at the service manual but all it says to do is wrap a towel around it (wtf?) and pull on it. I already managed to snap the middle piece of oh my bumper inbetween the grills in half by trying to stick my hand behind it. Do I need to jack the car up and do it from underneath the car?

If anyone that done this can give me some tips thank you!! :gapteeth: :gapteeth:

So maybe this will help a little:

I remember reading about using a shop towel to help you pull the grills out and thinking to myself, no way in hell is that working. I don't think you can even get the corner of a shop towel in on one side.
That's why I used some thin, but strong cord to weave in and out of the holes on one side of the grille. This allowed me to pull one side out. Once one side is free, then you have more leverage to get the other side out without breaking the grille.
Don't forget about the tiny hole that you stick a screwdriver in to turn the fastener to release the other side.

good luck!

haha i searched and searched all day and didnt find that thread and you guys posted it at almost the same time. the only thing i was finding was people saying to read the service manual which isnt helpful!

I couldn't even see that tiny hole near the fog light...was wondering where the hell the fastener was! So after I unlock that it's just strong clips I have to pull forward? I shouldnt have to use a towel or anything...

Thanks for the help guys
