Trying to change out my lifters cuz I think I may have a collapsed lifter so just wondering before I rip everything apart are there and sort of special tools I will need to remove or put them back in and not really sure how these lifters work but do they need to be bled?

there is a thread somewhere on how to do it step by step basically and what all is inside the lifters.........

I've seen it before

Well actually had another motor just sitting in the garage so I pulled the lifters out of that and they just slide right up and out but now im confused on how I am supposed to get the valves to sit back down when I have to put the cams back in? I'm about to search but while im busy doing that does anyone know how I am supposed to get the valves back down to put the cams back in and have them line up the right way because I doubt im strong enough to do it by hand lol?

if you are going to be doing this kind of work the chiltons manual is a must buy for like 20 bucks, also this site has a fsm(factory service manual that you can download) I looked at my chiltons and the lifters are completely different than my e so it seems like you are going to need a spring compressor and its called a valve cotter or snap ring. looks like the if the valve spring is still retained all you need to do is put the snap ring in place and place the lifter over it then shim to the correct clearance stem to guide on intake is .0008-.0021 and exhaust .0016-.0029 and the tightening procedure for the camshaft brackets are front 1 5 9 11 7 3 2 6 10 12 8 4it doesn't list a torque spec, but states to tighten in two or three steps in sequence. Hope this helps

Yea actually the lifters just pulled right out and just drop right back in without having to use any special tools or anything. With the cams I just bolted them back in and then just turned the cam with a 1" wrench to get it back into the right place so kinda figured everything out. Oh yea and the motor is a 95 ka24de.
