Hi guys, I'm trying to take out the metal rod that connects the climate control to the heater core (I think?). I have no clue how to detach that piece. Any help/pics will help greatly.

THANKS!

i recently took apart 3 of them trying to get my a/c controlls to work. and the problem was a blown fuse ............ anyway. to get the hot cold lever out you have to take out the screws holding the controll box in place and then unplug 2 sets of wires that connect to it. on the bottom of it you can see the hot/cold on/off levers and there is an insulated cable going to the hot/cold lever. now you have to take off the metal plate that is at the bottom front of the box, and you canthen pull the back half of the lever off, then you just have to pull the cable out of its hole in the lever and pull it out of its little slot. to put it back together its just the reverse order, but it is a major pain in the *** to get the metal plate back on with out breaking something. i hope this is what you were asking for

TOTALLY what I'm looking for! Thanks, but can you clarify a few points?

control box: is this the climate control? or the actual heater/cooler core?

Hmm, ok, so how is this cable held in? I mean, if I want to put it back in later, does it clip somewhere?

Thanks man!
