Hey, recently a blonde with sunglasses and a huge buick venture slammed into my drivers side . . and my driver side front fender looks like azz, so i wanna take it off and fix it up a little bit and then maybe paint it. I was trying to take some bolts off today and take it off, but I couldn't get it off . . anyone know how to remove it? Which bolts do I take off, and does anyone have pics of a process that shows you how to remove the fender!!!! Any suggestions? I would take it to the body shop, but they wanna charge me $150 for the fender, and $250 for the body work and paint on that bumper alone.

Help!

It's a bolt on-bolt off process. there is a line of bolts with nuts that connects it to the front bumper, a few bolts up top that connect it to the frame, and I think four bolts with nuts that attatch it to the door frame. That's a very normal body shop price, if I were you I'd try to go find one in a junkyard and get it re-painted to match your color.

there should be 4 bolts looking at the top of your bumper that connects it to these flat metal sections that connect to the support for your radiator. That's the top part. The bumper's also connected at the sides, where it meets the fenders. You'll need to go underneath the front of your car, pop off the plastic sections of your wheel wells, and that'll expose those bolts. They're 10mm and quite a few of them, i think 4 or 5 per side. Once you have them, the bumper should come off. Now you'll need to take out the bolts at the top of your fender that are connecting it to the rest of the car. There's another two bolts holding each fender, to get one of them, you'll need to open your door, you'll see one bolt holding the fender to the car. Next, look inside your wheel well, you'll see another one deep in there, take a few extensions and you should be able to get this one too. Before taking off your fender, disconnect the clip holding your side markers in. Now you can take the fender off, but note you will break the putty type stuff that makes the connection at the top (under the hood) of the fender smooth to the rest of the car. Reinstallation is a bit of pushing stuff around (to ensure good fit), and making sure all the bolts are in tightly. Remember when reinstalling the door, to check to make sure your door doesn't touch the fender when you open it.

Will do guys! I tackled this in my garage today and took all the bolts off except the ones that connect it to the front fender and the one that is very far deep near the door. I have to look for socket extensions to get that bolt, and the other ones .. i will try to either remove the front bumper . . which I dont want to do, or I will squeeze under the car somehow and remove the four or five bolts holding it to the front bumper. I could get a bumper from the junkyard for $100, but it's red and has a very slight ding, not as bad as my dented fender, but I don't know how to paint so I am avoiding that alternative.
