No problemo. We are rebuilding a 240 at the moment, so there will be TONS of how-to VIDEOS on the way. Writeups tend to only help 40% of the people. It's MUCH easier to watch a video.

I'm not the best at how-tos, and I'm sure someone who wants to get all technical would critique me, but fact is I have rebuilt tons of these things and have nearly 100% success rate. I can do a head gasket in about an hour with the engine still in the car.

We are doing a KA24E (just to help out those folks, dissasembly ONLY) and a SR20DET this month also. The SR guide will include installing aftermarket pistons and rebuilding the bottom end also.

What?! No swearing, busted knuckles and BEER?! 4 out of 5 stars due to that! :chuckle: .... Good vid man; nice to see someone taking the time to invest in the future of upcoming enthusiasts! I particularly like several attentions to detail that noobs may not be aware of: (1) The mention of not reusing the head bolts, (2) "removing" bolts in order (as I've seen many people only bother with the installation order, as in disorderly teardowns), (3) marking the gears, and (4) while not as obvious, yet one of my favorite finer details, using brightly colored zip-ties instead of black. Again really nice job, can't wait for the rest! :dblthumb:

LOL, radio FTW.

The front cover is plenty strong, and it was a brass hammer anyways. No damage done. It was not at my shop, so we had only limited tools to work with! :woot:

No problem! We have the head dissasembly and how to lap valves videos shot. Just need to find a little extra time to go through and edit them and throw them up!

We also shot "How to dissasemble a SR20DET" last night, editing should be done shortly on that one!!!

I've seen OP's vid about seventy two thousand times, as I'm doing this very project on my car soon. Was just wondering....when does your viewing audience get to see the rebuild vid? I would love to see it before tackling the project, but certainly don't want to rush you. It's been a while, so I figure you've got a reason it's not posted.

Anyway, awesome video!

Hey did you ever do the video for the ka24e? I searched your posts but couldn't find it. If you haven't, could you just give me a quick rundown on what differences to expect?

Unfortunately I have not had time to finish the videos, I have been swamped with work since I have last finished it. I am going going to have a break in the next weeks and I will finish out the series. I have a couple "How-to's" to finish up and edit.

I will take apart my KA24DE and shoot some other informative videos since I am going a different route with my engine for my vert now!

Thanks guys!
Tony

Why not just release the raw footage and let the community work on a video in the meantime?

I don't mind wading through extra scenes :mike .
