I've searched, but can't find the info I need. I have my engine sitting on an engine stand and can't keep the crank from turning when trying to loosen it. I've read that you can remove it by inserting some of the flywheel bolts, but I don't have the flywheel for the motor. How else can I keep it from turning without damaging the front cover or anything else?

get some bolts and thread em into the back of the crank. Put a prybar a pipe or something there you can get some leverage on. Bust the crank bolt free that way if you don't have an impact.

Any chance you know what bolt size is needed?
