How to remove 2012 Sentra rear view mirror

I want to replace the stock mirror in my 2012 Sentra (base) with one the has a compass/temp display but can't figure out how to remove the old one. Anyone have instructions on removal of the old mirror? Any advice is appreciated.

Have you checked the factory service manual? It should be available through my signature. There should be a diagram in there or explanation on how it is attached. Happy hunting!

I have an 09 so it's probably the same. The mirror comes off the base piece, there should be a small hole at the bottom of the base, slide in a small flathead screwdriver till you feel a clip, push on it till you hear or feel it move then pull the mirror straight up. It will take a bit of force but don't be scared to pull it once the clip is disengaged.
