How to release fuel pressure without cranking engine

I am halfway into a project and I just found out that I should have relieved the fuel pressure before I started. The instructions I have for that require trying to start the engine with the fuel pump fuse removed. However, my engine is has no oil, coolant, belt, and many components are out already.

This is on a 2002 Pathfinder 4wd Chilkoot edition with automatic transmission.

What is another way I could relieve this pressure?

Disconnecting the fuel line at the fuel filter is a pretty easy way to do it.
