I'm hoping to replace a bad AC motor amplifier(resistor) this week. I don't want to replace the motor itself, simply because i cant afford it. So I'm hoping to salvage the current system. If i don't find a junk yard resistor i'll buy the oem and in that case i dont want that one to burn out too... ($70 PART)That being said, someone noted that you can recondition the blower motor by opening it up, cleaning it, and "lubing" or "greasing" some specific parts. If anyone here is familiar w/ how to recondition the BM so it pulls the correct amount of current, Please lay out the process for me, I would REALLY appreciate it. I already opened the area where the brushes are and there was alot of shavings (graphite i guess, if that's what the brushes are made of) and what i thought was dirt. i blew out that area w/ a can of air and wiped the area clean.

Also, should i replace the Brushes?

if you can find replacement brushes then go ahead and replace them. if there is nothing really wrong then just blow it out and lube with light grease like gm super lube or something.

How do i know if something or nothing is wrong w/ them? currently they are about 6mm long. Is that too worn? What exactly do i lube?Where's a good place to look for replacement brushes...an Auto Air shop maybe, or Nissan?

good question. if there are no burn marks then just roll with it(i guess). i dont know what the spec on the brushes is but you may be able to find a set of brushes from an auto air shop. overhaul of small parts is getting less and less common and so are the parts. if the darn thing spins i would prob just blow it, spray it, and put 'er back on but thats just me
