How to reboot 2014 Nav Unit While Driving

Somebody asked about this many months ago and this weekend I inadvertently figured this out as my Nav was complaining about an SD card and I was getting frustrated because the factory card was in there.

To reboot the NAV unit - press and hold the Power button for anywhere from 5 to 10 seconds. It should then recycle and you will get the Nissan Emblem as it boots up. You may have to hit the power again for 1 second or less to turn the audio back on.

Ok. I had received a firmware update a few months ago. Maybe this is a new feature.

What kind of firmware update did you receive?

Yes I believe that it is the same one in the TSB. A few months ago I complained to the Dealer and NIssan America about my constant reboots and they scheduled a firmware update. At least that is what they told me that was happening. They had someone come in from Nissan Corporate to the dealership and update my radio. At the time it was a trial solution and there was no TSB for it in the system. I asked the dealer and all he could say was they updated the radio software but because Nissan corporate did it, he couldn't tell me any more details.

Since the update I have not had anymore random reboots. I have, however had 2 instances of the radio complaining about the SD card not being available. I was messing with the radio because of that SD card error and noticed if I hold down the power button it reboots.
