Hello,

I have a 2013 Altima 2.5 SL with about 140,000 miles. I would like to drive it until 200,000 miles, so I'm trying to make a list of what maintenance needs to be done for that to happen.

Most of the 140k have been on the highway and the car has been well maintained over its life. Haven't had any problems with the CVT. One of the rear shocks does have a small leak.

Here is what I have done so far (in the last year or so):
  • Kept up with oil changes
  • New engine & cabin air filters
  • New tires
  • New alternator and battery
  • CVT fluid has been replaced 3 times total
Next I'm planning to replace the sparkplugs, upgrade the headlights to LEDs, and flush the CVT fluid one more time.

If I do all this what are the chances the car can reach 200,000 miles? Is there anything else I should do? Thanks!

The QR25 is a kickazz engine from a durability standpoint, the big deal is the CVT. Your intervals are a tad long, 30K is right for most driving. My wife has the identical car, she's had 3K oil changes and 25K transmission changes since we bought her. She runs perfectly at 155K and if she doesn't make 250K I'll be plain annoyed. The only thing she'll probably need soon is a catalyst, those don't generally make it to 200K.

Sounds like you're well on your way. No reason it shouldn't go the distance - the CVT is probably the weak link in that car, and possibly the cooling system.

Keep an eye on the radiator housing for discoloration. I'd do a full coolant flush, replace with distilled water and coolant, and carry on!
