THIS IS ONLY FOR S13 RB25DET CARS, SO I AM SORRY I DON'T HAVE A FIX FOR THE REST OF YOU GUYS:

After buying my 3rd S13 gauge cluster from the local junkyard, I started to give up hope (I ruined a few :) ). I have wanted to have a working S13 cluster without wedging anything in. I realized that the speed I was going (actual car speed) happened to be what the speedometer was showing in KM/h. The speedo on the Silvia/180SX lines up perfectly, so you don't have to look at the small numbers in the middle.

WHAT YOU NEED:

1. Your existing cluster (240 SX without HUD)

2. Either a S13 Silvia cluster or the Xtal guages from Import Intelligence (<---- a sponsor) MAKE SURE YOU ORDER THE 180SX/Silvia gauge faces!!http://www.bee.net/a2low240/gauges/xtalblue.jpg

3. Tach from a 6cylinder Nissan from similar age (possibly even a RB20 Tach, but I didn't try it) I used a Maxima Tach.

Step 1: Put the Maxima (or other) tach into your original 240 cluster.

Step 2: Use the gauge faces from a 180SX/Silvia or the Xtal guages (for a 180SX/Silvia) to replace the tach and speedo faces that are now in your 240 cluster.

Step 3: Use the adjustment on the Speedo an Tach (if necessary) to fine tune it.

Done

Having a Rev/Speed meter helps in the fine tuning, so borrow one. It is easier than trying to adjust your speedo while following someone :)

This will cost you under $100 in parts, and it works.

Good luck, and I hope this helps some people out. There are several other options besides this one, so pick whatever works best for you.

yeah it sucks the r33 cluster doesn't fit too good in s13's... s14's though it is so nice ... and makes everything a lot easier.

I used the stock KA cluster with the HUD (electronic speedo). I have a 93 S13 with the RB25. I am using an RSM and a GPS for tach and speedo comparison. My tach is as close as I can get it to match my RSM but it moves slow. The needle moves up and down slow.

The speedo matches the GPS closely but is off 10 mph (slower) at speeds around 30-70 mph. Also using the KA electronic speedo but set to KMh. Using the MPh, it is completely off.

Note however, that the rsm and gps does not matched. I have the rsm tire diameter adjusted to 150% and it is still way off.

Do you find similar results Nismo?

r32 cluster works well in the s13 chassis, too bad the speedo wouldnt work due to the rb25 speedo being electric and the r32 cable.
