How to "race" ur G

Okay its late and i'm tired but after coming home from a joyride today i realized that i wanted to learn how to fully utilize my g in " " race situations. i found a nice cop free straight away, almost a QM long and i tired to test my 0-60 or QM. dindt really time it but just wanted to see how fast my car goes with all its mod's and i just realized that i didnt know what was the best rpm to rev my car to and hold. I know that G's have the stupid VDC system that wont shut off and if u rev ur car anywhere over like 5k it wont go but anyone know the exact rpm for an idle launch? so heres a few questions

1.) What rpm do i rev to and hold for the best launch on a REV up motor?

2.) if i'm rolling 20, 35, 45, which gears do i put my car to?

3.) and lastly when should i shift? ( 6.5ish? ) or should i redline? and is redlining the VQ bad?

The best launch technique is to get up to around 3.5k and feather the clutch to avoid wheelspin. Then wind to redline in every gear, with quick shifts between.

To answer your question, redline for any engine for extended periods is bad. However the VQ35 is very well designed, and the redline cutoff isn't too harsh. Feel free to play, just don't overdo it!

Launch between 4000-4500 RPMs IMO.

yahh that is what i thoguht after reading alot of dyno charts the mid point between hp and tq is around 4.5k but everyone here is saying dont launch your car? does that mean just dont dump ur clutch?
