The best launch technique is to get up to around 3.5k and feather the clutch to avoid wheelspin. Then wind to redline in every gear, with quick shifts between.
To answer your question, redline for any engine for extended periods is bad. However the VQ35 is very well designed, and the redline cutoff isn't too harsh. Feel free to play, just don't overdo it!
