Ive heard alot about painters tape n ive heard good but ive heard bad. ive been looking online trying to find anything that is a bit more specific n i ended up hearin about this product called drag wrap i emailed the guy doin it n ive yet to get a response (probly cause i emailed him late last night) but im always sceptical bout stuff like this but from what i can tell it seems like it'd b a good thing but his website is under construction so everything is through email. can anyone with a little more experience with stuf like this check it out n let me know. his email is [email protected] im assuming thats his name too. If anyone could let me know if this seems like somthin good rather than a scam id appreciate it.

Not interested in looking into anything else, because there's already a solution.

3M ClearBra is a "permanent" solution (but it's expensive).

I can't imagine anyone having anything "bad" to say about blue painters tape. If they did, they've either never done it, or they're doing it wrong.

i think im gona give both of them a try. Ive been looking into it and dragwrap ends up being a dollar per application at the track and its water based so no matter what im not gona damage my paint and its cheap so it works on a budget. but if painters tape doesnt damage it then it'd b more convenient until i order the dragwrap. what brand of tape would you recomend and do you know what the base in the adhesive is cause if its oil or petrolium based its gona wear on the paint regardless so i dont wana use it to much.

Like hitman said.....3M blue painters tape .It will protect from rocks and stuff too.If You just want to protect from tire rubber,a good coat of wax before hand, and cleaning with silicone wax and grease remover afterwards works great.

I have a picture of a Shelby Cobra's front end completely covered (from front tire to front tire) in that blue painters tape while at SCCA Solo nationals. No scuffs from cones for him.

Just wax your car once or twice, then put the tape on. If it's safe enough for painters who will paint a car, it's safe enough for you to put on a clean car.
