i've searched and googled and haven't found a concrete method. My motor is going in for hopefully the last time for a while, and I'd like to get this correct. I'd like to know how to flush the system (with a garden hose) correctly, then fill it back up correctly and get all the air bubbles out of it. Heres what I've come up with, add corrections where you see fit please!

FLUSHINGDo radiator seperatly, stick hose in one end turn on shake around turn upside down spin it around for both end tanks until all that comes out is clear water. As for motor, can I remove thermostat and put garden hose in the upper hose and let wash things out the bottom hose?

FILLINGHook up radiator and lines, get a funnel add 50/50 (for my area) until its full.

BLEEDING / BURPINGAll I could really find for this part would be to turn car on with no radiator cap and just keep adding as necessary. I'd like to think there is another thing I could do to make sure there is no air in my system. Could I make the temperature sensor act as a bleeder screw since its pretty high up? Fill it up and burp as much as possible then put cap on and make sure resovoir is full then loosen sensor til coolant comes out?

any help appreciated.

Bleeding the system on the CA kinda sucks. Technically, there is a bleed screw on the back of the intake manifold, but it is next to impossible to get to. I've always just filled it up as much as I could, idled the car till it got to NOT, and then shut it off and let it cool down. Rechecked the fluid level and refill as necessary. I do that for the next couple of days while driving it normally until it quits needing more coolant.

I've done it like that will ALL SORTS of different cars and never had a problem.

I am in the middle of the Ryan Method as we speak. Just fill, fill the overflow tank, run the car normal, and the next morning, fill er up. Should take anywhere from 3-5 mornings.

On a funny side note, I got an odd reading from my stock gauge yesterday. It was steady at about 55% where it ususally lives, then, all of a suddedn, it spiked to FULL HOT....as in wwwwaaaayyyy past H. Then, it dropped back to almost normal, and then literally danced back and forth for a bit. My aftermarket gauge sat fine at its normal operating temp, so I knew that I hadn't sprung a new leak. I really wanted some video of my posessed temp gauge LOL.

Yea, that was an air bubble. They'll do that.
