how to prime ka24e oil pump ?

Im soon to be installing a new cam chain, guides and tentioner into me engine, just wanting to know how axactly should I prime the oil pump after the job is done, do I pack it with vasoline or not ?? please help !!

I suppose you can pack it with some vaseline, or you could fill a small portion of it with some oil and just deal with the top with some assembly lube also.

+1 on the vaseline. It's how I have primed every pump I've installed.

The easiest way, IMO, is to pull the cover off the pump gears and pack it in there. Or you could try to suck it in by spinning the pump. I just find that method to take too long.
