I'd like to de-chrome the window trim on my Super Black GXE and paint it body color.

How is this done? Can the trim be hand painted? I was thinking about hand sanding it with some 400 grit and hand applying some primer.. and then, well, I don't know what to do from there.

I'd like to do the same for the chrome-ish grill trim as well.

I'd try scuffing the chrome with a red scotch-brite pad, then just mask off the window and prime/paint

THAT's the detail I was looking for, MoD, thanks. I'm thinking that scotch-briting will do a better job on that surface than sanding.

I'm gonna black my whole grill as well, and I think the scotch-brite will work good there too.

Scotch-brite is what I used when I painted my grille black.

That Window Trim is the suck to take off. I had a junk yard take one off theres and they bent it doing it then i tried putting it on mine and it warped a bit, putting on.
