How to open locked door?

I know it's wierd, but I took the door panels off today to fix my window alignment and stop them from rattling around. Put the door panels on and shut the doors, passenger side works just fine....but I can't get the drivers side door open. The lock works, both door handles work, it just seems like it's locked but the door handles aren't unlocking it.

Managed to get the panel off and all the levers are working it seems like. Is there a way to get this thing unlocked? Key doesn't do anything from the outside either. Really random, but it sucks big time. help out please!

yeah thats not a good situation at all.. more then likely the rod that goes from you door handle fell off of the mechanism that unlatches the door. i would try and pry the panel off as much as you can and try to get your hand down where the door latches to the car and see if you either can put the rod back on or pull where the rod would normally pull.. i have always wondered what you could do if that happens.

Dude I know, this really sucks. I did get the door panel all the way off, it took awhile though. All of the rods are still connected and they move like they should when you pull the handle or flip the lock/unlock switch. I don't get it, they move just like the passenger door rods do, just can't figure anything out. It's like it's permeninetly locked and won't come undone. Please, anybody else have any advise?!

nevermind, got it to work. one of the rods was just bent a little so it wasn't engaging.
