How to open a .test computer file?

I downloaded a file w/ the file extension .test, but i can't open it properly b/c i'm pretty sure its encrypted. Is there anyways around this?

.test? never seen that file name b4... what kinda file is it? program... text file?

my friend got it from some website and has been trying to crack it. someone told me its a spl database

Looks like it's for WINE. Wine is a program for *nix that allows you to run Windows programs. Last I heard it was still kinda sketchy though.
