I'm trying to purchase oxygen sensors for my car. For sake of saving time, called the local infiniti parts dept which gave me what seems as a high quote on the 3 sensors, but would not give me the part numbers.

Any way that I can get help on finding actual part numbers for the sensors for my car? TIA.

i did check out infinitpartsusa, but they just state to call/email for info. no specific part numbers. does autozone have oem part numbers? or are they just universal parts. the only reason i want it as plug and play as possible, not comfortable trying to figure out wires and splicing things together. thank you though for your help. if i can get actual part numbers, my local nissan parts dealer can get me the parts cheaper than the infiniti guy would give to me.

Welcome to NICO!

First off, if your check engine light (CEL) is on, have the code(s) read. Then, refer to the code(s) to find out exactly which sensor(s) need to be replaced. Nissan OEM O2 sensors are generally Bosch with a Nissan stamp. I believe they may use NTK as well. Bosch from Advance or Auto Zone will work just fine and offer the same one year warranty that the dealer offers. Here is some info for you.

Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0150Heated O2 sensor left bank [bank 1 (closest to firewall)]

Bosch Oxygen SensorPart No. 13242

(DTC) P0130Heated O2 sensor right bank [bank 2 (closest to radiator)]

Bosch Oxygen SensorPart No. 13242

(DTC) P0136Heated O2 sensor rear (located in or after catalytic converter)

Bosch Oxygen SensorPart No. 13783

The DTC info for your I30 can be found HERE in the Factory Service Manual (FSM).

In general, for OEM parts, IoS is he best place to buy parts, 25% off MSRP. Most Infinitis have Japanese-Bosch (not US/EU-Bosch per info from q45tech). Others have NGK. An O2 sensor from IoS is @ $125 for the front and $142 for the rear.

For spark plugs and O2 sensors, I usually go to "ngk, com" a.k.a. "sparkplugs.com." They have OEM and quality replacement parts. The O2 sensors for your car from NGK is @ $69 for the front and @ $73 for the rear.

Avoid the cheap ones...you'll jut regret it. Some have used Walker O2 sensors but I don't know how good are these replacement sensors.

Japanese Bosch is different than USA Bosch. Don't confuse the two.

If you don't buy oem from the dealer, NGK is usually recommended and usually cost way less. For your car the ones before the cat are all the same for all years according to sparkplugs.com. The one after the cat have different part numbers depending on whether your car was built up to 07/96 or from 07/96 on.

If you want to know the oem part numbers for your car, send me your VIN in an email I will provide you with the correct part numbers. Without the VIN it's hard because there are too many part numbers.

you guys are awesome. really appreciate the help. think i will go with the ngk from sparkplugs.com.

makes me more comfortable that they are a direct replacement, no splicing, etc...

Thanks again guys. Replaced all 3 sensors, cause i lost the code sheet that was printed out for me by autozone. Worked out anyways, as I pulled all sensors, they all looked pretty shot. Got the NTK parts from sparkplug.com and they were a perfect fit.

Never done it before but really wasn't all that bad, took me about an hour and 1/2 taking my time and going back and forth from the house to get water and get things. Did the check engine light reset on the ecu and no more CEL. Hopefully that will remain the case. Now just need to get it inspected so I can use the car again and I'll be square. Really appreciate all the help on buying the parts and all the great DIY's here on Nico...

Excellent for a first time job. I hate to spoil the celebration but your car is not ready for inspection (SMOG inspection) since it takes a while for the ECM's System Readiness Test to be completed after clearing the codes. Doing so will be a waste of time and money as it will definitely fail.

It takes a minimum of 20 minutes mixed highway-city-highway drive with 5 stop-and-go to complete the SRT. The EVAP is the last one to be checked. My 03Q45 took more than a week, the final one driving 100 miles RT before the it was completed. I have a scanner so I know when the SRT is done.

In essence, the SRT test is as follows - warm-up the engine then drive the car on a highway at 53-60 MPH for at least 10 mins, then back to the city streets at 30-35 MPH with 5 FULL STOPS in between, then back to the highway at 53-60 MPH for at least 3 mins. If you're lucky, test will be completed in a day. To be on the safe side, take it back to Autozone after you have done the SRT procedure to check whether it has been completed or not.

Thanks for the tip. So basically just drive it around as much as possible mixed city and highway on trips that last at least 20 mins? My problem with taking it out is really that the inspection sticker has already expired and I have already gotten a ticket for it for having it parked on the street in front of my house and not using it. I can take it for a spin at night and do the driving part, but difficult for me to take it to autozone to get it checked again as police in my area have been cracking down on that lately (a friend of mine was pulled over recently for nothing more than the officer saw his inspection sticker month had passed in passing).

drove the car around last nite for a bit. after having installed the o2 sensors and resetting the CEL after about 5-10 mins of driving the CEL came back. is it due to what you've just explained? that the ECM's System Readiness Test hasn't completed? Or did I do something wrong? The only codes that came up from my trip to autozone the first time around were the O2 sensors and knock sensor (which i haven't changed yet), but as I've read repeatedly around here knock sensors shouldn't trigger a CEL. Any insight is greatly appreciated.

The SRT will not trigger a CEL. You need to find out the DTC code. You are right about the KS sensor. It will generate a fault code but will not turn on the CEL.

Better keep all the receipts in your car about the actions you have done to prepare for SMOG check. I believe the police will understand and be more lenient if he/she knows that you are doing something to correct the problem.
