I bought a hidden hitch tow hitch, and the Nissan 7 pin tow harness.

However, there's no place to mount the tow harness! The install instructions show a nice metal block where the harness is supposed to go. I guess that the hidden hitch doesn't include it, but the OEM does.

so, where did you guys mount the plug? How did you do it?

You may need to splice it in one wire at a time.

I thought the Xterra only had a 4 pin adapter plug at the back...At least the 2000-2001 had that from the factory.

I don't have the latest info on the current Xterra/Frontier systems. I wonder if NM50 might be able to help here...

OH NM50????

The 2005 does have a 7-pin plug -- you'll need a 4-pin adapter to get it to work with most trailers.

Mine already had everything installed when I bought it. I'll look at my set-up tonight and let you know what I find tomorrow.

OK Fellas, I got this done...

First I cut the hole with a 2 1/8" bimetal hole saw about 1 1/16" above the plastic of the license plate light.

Then I primered and rust-oleum painted the hole

Cut off the excess crap from the plug

Drilled the mounting holes and primered and rust-oleum painted those too. Then mounted the plug and sealed it all up with silicone

Done! Thanks guys for your help.
