How do you make the S13 fastbacks tail lights solid red? Or even better how do you make the turnsignals in the tail lights clear? I heard that you paint the back side/inside of the light with some red model paint, but my attempt to disassemble the tail lenses was in vain!!! I unscrewed all of the obvious screws and even got a little rough with the extra broken light that I had lying around. How do you access the lenses? Are they glued in? It seems to me that making the trun signals clear would be impossible? Yet I have seen them out there. Will Some body please give me some direction here.

Clearcorners.com will do it for you.. You send them your tail lights and like 500 bucks(somewhere around there I forget) and they send them back to you half clear half red.. Or to make them all red you can buy this red tint spray stuff at Advanced Auto Parts or Autozone or the like.. I cant help you out with the taking apart thing.. Sorry

They are a ***** to take apart. There is that gasket and then glue. As strong as they are, they crack pretty easy. I am sharing in your pain, not offering a suggestion. I failed also

But still, I'd rather have the kouki rear end for 5 bills. PEACE. Tek.

If you want to get the lenses off, buy another set on ebay, use a dremel or whatever to cut away all the plastic that the lenses mount into, then smash out the lenses from the other set. Voila, you now have a set of backings and lenses seperate.

But some people wouldn't.. I dont see why some of you people spend so much money to make your car look like a stock car in Japan... I'd rather have LED red/white Chucki's than Kouki's but eh we all got our own opinions..:D

I like it, not gonna get it though. I'm not about to spend 5 bills for fricken lights for my car. If I had the 5 to waste though, I'd get kouki's before the chuki's or leds. Of course though, everyone has their opinion. PEACE. Tek.

Sadly, are they the only ones that do that? I mean honda boys have a milion companies to choose from, and we get stuck with some overpriced company. I know the quality is good, but come on!

So start your own company and F the rest of em. In Cali, BOE liscences to be distributors are free and you can get on in about 2 hours. I had one for a year, but never renewed it. If you've got a connection (for cheap parts) you could start a business easily. Staying successful is something else. But you could always get the liscence, if you happen to be going to japan, save up and buy a crap load of JDM parts. Ship em here. Then sell them for however much you want. You'd be another one of the dozen or so companies. Theoretically, it's not hard at all. Logistically, it takes a lot of effort, time and money. I imagine, if you can make a name for yourself, you'd be set. It doesn't take much to keep customers happy. Reliability, communication, and quality. Don't try to cheat your customers out of their money and you'll be fine. Aftermarket parts are never going to go out of style. So once you're off and running, your set, so long as you know how to run a business. PEACE. Tek.

Thanks tek 4 the inspiration. I am currently trying to do something lie that, buy in bulk then resale. But things like custom tailights are so rare, its not like I can just go to japan and pick them up. I cant evenrecollect seeing any other company carrying anything like what clearcorners has. If they have a monopoly, there is just no money there. And manufacturing is just out of the question for you average joe.

If someone can find me some tailights from another company, then let me know. I'll keep you guys posted on my projects.

Heh, I'm unimpressed. I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or serious, but that looks to me like vinyl tape with holes cut out. Tasteless in my opinion. I'd say it's creative, but it's not really. Lots of people use tape on lights. PEACE. Tek.
