So after months of thinking and looking at wiring schematics I have figured out a way to use the stock sohc tach with the cop sr20det engine! Anyone interested in a write up?

relatively simple, all you do is add 4 Diode's to the ignitier signal wires coming off the coil pack sub harness, to the Tach signal wire and it works perfectly fine. what was the method you wanted to use?

Ok so the diode idea is out. The only info I could find was on another forum and was half of an idea that was almost a write up but THERE ARE TOO MANY RISKS. Diodes heat up and can cause issues if they short. Not to mention you have to butcher 4 wires. Also there is a possibility of signal from one cylinder going to another. Using the autometer tach adapter 9117 (or msd adapter 8913) will have none of those risks and also only have to tap into one wire! I am waiting on my adapter and I'll post up my install for anyone interested.
