Alright kind of a broad question but I want my maxima gle, look a little better-i.e not like a car my grandma would drive!! I was thinking about lowering it, but where I go to school I wouldn't want to that because the roads are extremely rough in some areas. I was looking at getting a still front lip, and rear bumper spoilers, but I really don't like the grill, its just kinda plain, I wanted to something like this but I dont know how I would pull it off.

Sorry for the crappy pic, like I said my car is all black w/fog lights etc... I don't have a pic of my car yet so just imagine lol!!! I also was looking at the skyline replica head lights-to ricey for me, and I just put nice silverstars in for headlights and fog lights so I would like to keep the stock headlights. Also suggestions for wheels maybe? I was thinking about getting the SE wheels and painting them bronze or gunmetal, I just spent $650 on new tires so I don't want to get rid of my tires!!!

Any suggestions for an improved look would be much appreciated!!!

Put some aftermarket wheels on it first. That IMO will make the biggest difference in the appearance. Everybody's taste in wheels is different. I personally went for Flik wheels at Edge Racing for a variety of reasons, but the major one was price. Tinted windows would help too. I have the spoiler on my '01 max, but I don't think it necessarily adds a lot.

Me personally I dont really like the 4th gens without a spoiler. So if you have one keep it. If you dont maybe look at getting one.

And for some reason having tint makes people want to race you? before my windows were tinted nobody took a second look at me. now every punk in a civic wants to go. its the same story with my freind and his sentra SER. exact same thing happened to him. so maybe get some tint?

And of course rims. Make sure you either get the right offset so they are flush with the femders or get spacers. having them out further and not tucked in to the wheel well does more for looks than you would think! If you did all three of those things you will be well on your way to having a non grandma ride. haha

Oh and clear the side markers and stuff.

I agree, wheels are golden as far as appearance goes. Don't get chrome or black though. go with a more flat finish. Get some tint, and get rid of any amber plastic on the car. You can do a google search for clear sidemarkers and tutorials on how to clear the headlights. You need sideskirts, preferably oem if you can find them. Get an oem spoiler. Also, the grill needs to be clean not flashey, so dont go get a billet grill unless the rest of the car is smooth enough to match it.

if you want your max to look a little better...park it next to mine i don't know if you're gonna be able to pull off the vertical grille but look into pick up parts (billet grille) maybe you can cut it to fit.

Yeah I know wheels will be in the summer for sure, what size though 17's?As far as what I want it to look like....its all black so something smooth, and mean looking without putting a body kit on it.... as far as front turn signals, I cant decide if I want black or clear? I appreciate everyones input!!!

It sounds like our Maxima's will look very similar. I have 17" and its a pretty good size. if you can scrape enough money together get something lightweight. my car is noticeably slower with the 17" rims.

Sorry for some reason I have never been able to post pictures? so here is the link anyway. http://s292.photobucket.com/al...2.jpg

Sorry man your link didn't work for me, but something lightweight huh? Well that might be a bit tough considering I'm going to college, so a ramen noodle diet I dont think will help with that!! But we will see, thanks for the advice!!

The thing about the base model 4th gens is that they're sort of...monotonous. But in a way that's a good thing because it means they just need a little bit of contrast and it makes a HUGE difference. A couple little things that might help:

Fog lights. Even if you don't install fog lights, if you paint the foglight placeholders flat black it will probably make a nice difference.

Factory trunk spoiler.

Clear or smoked front signals will definitely do a lot for the car, too.

Tint will add some contrast and dimension.

I might try doing something with the lower grille, too, if it were my car. I'm not exactly sure what, but a bit of contrast in that area could go a long way. Maybe some chrome around the twin openings. Or, heck, maybe even just some ghetto home depot mesh.

Here's a pic of mine rims. I am thinking about selling them to help pay for my trans repair/replacement. I still have the factory rims too. If nothing else it might spark some ideas for you.
