How to make a KA24DE Alternator work on CA18DET

This is actually quite a simple one and I am surprised that no one has done this yet.

All you have to do, is remove the front half of the KA24DE Alternator, and replace it with the front half of the CA18DET Alternator.

the bracket on the KA is about 1 inch too short for the holes to line up. Swapping the basket off the KA, worked like a charm for me!

from what ka24de exactly is the generator? I've read here that some people have trouble with such swap...

so far, both KA PS pump and ALT can be adj for use on a CA...

YAY for no drift JDM tax...lol !

i thought that i read somewhere that swapping the CA front half to the KA alternator ruins the bearings or something along those lines and would eventually cause it to fail?

Yea, this thread needs an update, the guy that created this thread ended up finding out later that his alternator started eating bearings after he swapped the front cover.
