How to lower your drag coefficient?

so how? yes we all can get technical, reengineer the whole body system of our vehicles, but do you know how many hours of testing calculating and actual lift, downforce experimentation will it take to make it safer at high speeds?

So we need some cheaper, eaiser way to do it.

I came accross this 2 years ago, and its useful, it works.

For some this maybe really "old skool," but:

hit the button next to ac/heater to take the air into cabin from the outside. Turn off ac/heater obviously, and open your windows just a bit, just enough for the air to escape, is say 1/2 inch each window.

at anything higher than 80mph you will see the improvement in acceleration, and your top speed will increase too, DUHHH!

------------------------------------------------------------------------*note: make sure you recurculate air inthe cabin during the pollenation season. pollen clogs up your cabin filter and it stinks later on.

its very nice especially if outside temp is below 30F.

Also slide heater all the way to heat max., so you can get warmer air blown into the cabin, since you may feel cold.

then shift to fourth gear and hit 80-100 mph.

Lexus has underside dimples, which are apparently useless.

It's really interesting to see how small things impact drag. On the new Maxima, for example, the tiny lip spoiler makes a difference of .02 (.28 with .30 without). I didn't expect that much difference...it's not even two inches long. Of course, the A34 looks funny without the spoiler anyway...too round.

is it too cold for you all to get up your asses and test this thing at high speeds, and than come back and say, hey sanioll, thank you, it was very cool,. youre the man, genious, victorious, etc..

sigh...

Doesn't opening the windows add drag? If so, that would cancel out any gains.

Why can't you just spray some Teflon on the hood of your car and call it a day? If you are short some money this month, I am sure that PAM will work just as well to lower the drag co-efficient.bud
