Hello, i want to know how do you guys launch, do you let off the clutch slowly or fast, how much do you rev and what kind of power are u making. Also this might not be here but i have a 240sx and i found a spec 4 clutch to have the best price and i just have 180whp right now and it is my daily driven, so it will be ok or is it too much. Thanks in advanceTona

this is how I launch:

I keep the revs around 4k, then on green I let the clutch out and hit the gas, balancing them to keep the rpm at ~4k and getting the clutch out fast as possible with out loosing traction.

Only mods are k&n drop in filter, asp underdrive, full 2.5" exhaust (headers, cat, brm catback), worn out clutch, open diff. Tires are Dunlop sp sport fm901 215-55-16

edit: Also, Austin doesn't have a drag strip for some silly reason, so I can't tell you what kind of times I get. Come spring I'll head to either San Antonio or Temple/Acadamy and see what I can do.

you have to play with your car and PRACTICE

Every 240 is different...ive owned three and they all launched different

One would lauch at 2000k with a pop of the clutcn, my white at 1400....my blue im still learning.

The best is to Pop the clutch without wheel hop and without spinning the tires.. You will have a much better time. And your launch will be awesome if you master that. It takes time and practice.

Start at 1k and pop the clutch and go...You will probably wheel hop and then go. Move up until you dont have wheel hop and the wheels dont spin.

This is true, I have a 240 with a 2JZ-GTE. 396rwhp and 411 torque @ 14 psi. I have been mastering the car for two weekends in a row with the boost controller off (stock boost is 8-9 psi). The first weekend my mediocre launches got me into 13.4. This past weekend into 12.9. I'm now consistent enough with my 2.045-2.095 60ft launches.

This next weekend I'll be at low boost 12psi... the objective is to find out how me and the car reach a consistent good launch and shift. Practice Practice Practice.

The car has a stage one basic package upgrade 2JZ-GTE, 5 speed toyota manual, HKS twin plate and R200 diff with aftermarket axles. 18" rims with NT 555 extremes 265 rear and 225 front. 5lug conversion and R32 brakes front and rear.

The goal is 11 seconds runs @ 14psi. So I must practice practice and some more practice.

Good Luck! Hope this gave you the idea to practice!!!
