Hi, I have a 1994 Nissan Pickup and I was wondering if anyone knew how to tell if the oil pump was providing enough pressure because the engine is making a weird noise when it is accelerated.

Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

If it's a 2.4 I'd say its the timing chain.

Timing chain valve rattle or it is predetonating due to bad gas or timing being off, pressure gauge is best and really only way to know if pressure is proper.
