i would be down to write up all the safety methods i can think of and how it's done etc but that'll give potential thieves more ways to counter our security.

alarm, kill switches fuel, starter, ecu etc (i can help you personally if you want but i'm not going to write it up), if you're crazy enough break your car locks inside and out so besides the alarm theres nearly no way of getting in, clutch lock, lug nut locks(multiple types if possible because we all know thieves carry some keys), steering wheel quick release.

all good information. I once locked myself out of my car with the keys in the console and the car in drive (long story). Using trash I found in a garbage bin in the alley, it took me all of 10 minutes to get back in the car. Manual locks, too.

I'll not go into details as I'm sure we all like our 240s parked where we left 'em.

Why not spend the money for a good alarm? I't amazes me how many custom cars are on the road with no alarm on them.

Ultimately, alot of cars stolen are by crooked tow truck drivers. I know a few.

There's a Clifford alarm with a keypad that makes it almost impossible to steal any car. I could give you my keys and you still couldn't steal it...

You get in, turn the key, and then have 30 seconds or so to input a 4-digit PIN#, or else the car shuts off and won't restart until the PIN# is entered.

Or something like that....

A guy around here has one on his S14 (The Teckademics S14.5). It's pretty neat.

Also my trick is that I have all these visible toggle switches and a kill switch you can't see.

I keep mine in the garage and don't park my car in shady spots over night. I also take off my detatchable hub and hide the steering wheel in back of my seat.

Have you guys ever think, taking your car to get it service or even to your local speed shop(NOT SAYING THEY'RE ALL BAD) to leave it overnight for any installation just for them to make a copy of your key or search your car for any kill switches, alarm brains, sirens, etc.But like many said, If a thief wants your car they will get it done. I wish they come up with some **** like a taser on the seat and shock the f*** outta them and when you come back to your car to see them laying unconscious , just beat them till they wake up.

I think they used to have something like that. I don't think it was barbed like a taser, but it did give a nasty shock. That was until some thief sued the owner of a car with the shock alarm installed. Then they were banned. I always thought a big blade that shot out from under the car and cut off the feet of any would be theif would be pretty rude. It's hard to steal a car (not to mention run away) when you have no feet.

Make your car gas them, then your car opens the door and hydraulic lift pushes them out of the seat. Then you car closes door and vents out posionous gas.

I think keeping a club on the steering wheel and having an alarm system is a smart choice. Not to mention mercury switches under the hood and killswitches.

Actually, I have one... you can easily bypass it w/ a couple simple tools... and you can even drive w/ just the hub - I have - not very well, but well enough to make a getaway.

Will only stop the dummmbbbeessttt of thieves.

Yea, bought my kit (Auto Tekniq one) for like $100+ - thought it would be the coolest thing in the world - nice toy, but not a true security measure. I like the detachable hub that 574 was talking about.

Tulsa....steering wheel club... tsk tsk tsk

It's so easy to bypass any alarm system (at least for our own cars since we know where everything is) it's ridiculous. I had to disable my alarm one time bcs the remote stopped working or the alarm malfunctioned... viper 791xv - not that difficult at all.

Haha...not a bad idea.

I was at a shopping center a couple weeks ago renting my tux for prom, and I watched a guy stick his arm in a cracked window and try to reach the glove box. I wasn't about to say anything (because it was a big black man and they intimidate me ). So I drove by real slow with the window down and stared at him so he got uncomftorable and left.

The only time my car spends a lot of time in a parking lot is while Im at school, but there are cameras on the lightposts and security guards always patrolling so I think it's pretty safe there. When it's at home, it's in the garage. My girlfriend's mom makes fun of me because I won't even leave the doors unlocked when its parked at my house.

I wanna make a kill switch that is wired into like the air recirculator button on the dash...car won't run without that button pushed. I don't think when a thief is looking for a kill switch he's gonna go through the AC buttons.

I think the best way was the steering wheel w/detachable hub. But the thing is if a thief is smart and plans. He'll be able to steal the car. I think if you do some kinda steering wheel and a kill switch you should be fine. Its funny i was able to steal a friends 240 and hide it in my garage. I lived two houses down the street. It was funny but it was messed up.So the next night i put his car back where he had it parked. Real funny but phuked up joke. When I told him it was me he was jus glad that it really wasnt stolen

I can't remeber where I saw it (I think it was in South Africa or something like that) but there was a car with a flame thrower style security system on it. It had a nozzle under each door pointing up about 45 degrees. If you attempted to break into the car or carjack, a 6 foot flame would come out from under the car and burn the crap out of you. Here's some footage I found. http://edition.cnn.com/WORLD/a...car/ Click the Quicktime link

I like the idea of a spring loaded steak knife sticking the thief in the right butt cheek!

I installed an accessory called a pain generator, runs off the full alarm trigger wire of an alarm. The paperwork states it's an 110 decibel piezeo electric tweeter that can cause permenent hearing damage if exposed to for long periods.

I just like the idea of giving alittle back!

Or even easier, take an important fuse or relay with you. Small and light enough to fit in your pocket. Also a damn good alarm, like the Viper one with the motion detector (for the outside). It is absolutely senseless to own a 240 and not have an alarm. These cars are high in demand, no matter where you live.

Hmmm, that would be a possibility, haha.

Only thing I see w/ that is that the ECU saves the last 50 runs for "optimizing" the car's settings, so that will be reset all the time, not to mention kind of a hassle.

Might as well put your car on jack stands and take your rims in with you, that's the most popular thing stolen - and will avoid tow truck robberies... Only problem is now you suspension is up for grabs... GOD DAMMIT, i need one of those crazy "old car car covers" like in the VW commercials.
