Hey guys, I just had a quick question about what needs to be done and when to keep a new paint job looking brand new and last for a good minute. I got 3 layers of PPG Lamborghini Grey and about 4 layers of clear coat and need to know how to keep it up and at what intervals??? Thanks for any help and advise guys.

Well wash it after every rain,Don’t keep it dirty for too long (paint tends to oxide)Wax at least twice a year (I use Maguires(sp) gold wax)Buff it after every wash (I use maguires(sp) instant detail)

So far I have 5 year old paint that looks better then the day I bought it

4 layers...damn, you beat my by one. With that much clear it's safe to buff it once every year without tearing down on the paint. Give it a good run with 3m compound (use the fastest buffer you can find, the $300 dollar one from sears is nice, but a bit on the heavy side), and then 2-3 runs with polish/protectant.

as far as that over the counter stuff they sell at the store, have fun with it every two months or so.

Try to keep your car out of the sun. And build a garage if you don't already have one :D
