Hi All,

So I am on a phone call via car bluetooth (M45X) and pull into my driveway. I turn off the engine by pressing the stop button and the call is then dropped off the bluetooth. Same will be the issue if you are listening to radio and you pull in a parking lot to wait for someone and you will turn off the engine. This is not the issue with many other cars (say regular keyed cars) where you can move the key to the accessories rather than to full stop / lock.

How do you folks deal with this situation? Maybe I am doing something wrong, being a new owner of an Infiniti.

Thanks and God bless you all.

Hold the release button on the shift knob, then press the start button to shut off. This should keep the accessories on.
Should be in the manual on how to do this.

Leave the car in D or N and turn it off. Car will not shut off fully. That's probably not the safest way, but it'll do. Set the e-brake first if you want to be safe lol. I did something similar but took my foot off the gas before I hit the power button (tired after driving 18hrs straight only stopping for gas/food) and ended up bumping one of those pillars they put in front of a parking spot at a gas station lol.

Thank you Black_MX and IlyaKol. Both of your tips work. Somehow I could not find any reference after going over the manual couple of times.

Great evening and very best to you both.

I've simply been pressing the stop/start button twice quickly when shutting off. It shuts the engine off and immediately goes to accesory mode. Just to throw out another option.

I would rather throw the car in neutral, shut it off, then throw it in park. In my experience, the triple-tap doesn't work well for shutting off the engine while in motion, so I wouldn't trust the double-tap to register and I wouldn't want the button's failure (or mine, as the case may be) to disconnect a phone call.

Thank you! I have always wondered how I could do this, but haven't seen this anywhere else...

Wouldn't this be harmful to the electrical components, as you are technically shutting off power for a really short period of time before turning it back on?
