how to jump the inhibitor switch for auto to manual?

I am having a hard time with my auto to manual swap in my 91 s13.

the car will not crank over, but i know the starter works

I think i may have jumped the inhibitor switch wrong or something.

Can someone please specify exactly how to jump the wires together (white and yellow/blk)?

should i cut both wires on the fusebox side of the connector and wire the fusebox side together, while leaving the other side taped up?

or

do i cross the wires?

Hook up a wire to both pins on the plug so you don't have to cut the harness.
